Chimney Sweep Dublin › Chimney inspections and smoke tests
Chimney inspections & smoke tests in Dublin
Camera (CCTV) inspections and smoke tests to check a chimney or liner before you use it, buy a house or fit a stove.
Free and no obligation. We pass your request to an independent local chimney sweep covering Dublin city and county.
What to know
A smoke test fills the flue with harmless coloured smoke to show whether any leaks into rooms, the attic or a neighbour's house. It's a sensible check on a chimney that hasn't been used in years, or before a new stove is connected.
A camera inspection runs a small camera up the flue to look for cracks, gaps, blockages and loose liner sections, which can't be seen from the fireplace or the roof.
If you're buying a house with a fireplace or stove, or after a chimney fire, an inspection tells you whether the chimney is safe to use before you light it.
